A note to think about!!!! Please remember!!! If you are renting a 2x booth, please keep your items within the 2 feet!! ETC. ETC.  There is way too much spill over into the aisles!  (I really do not want to mention names!!!)
A big reminder!!! Please do not put broken glass in the trash without first wrapping it in paper.  It causes a multitude of problems, the least of which is the tearing of the trash bags!!!
If you have boxes or bags of items you have removed from your booth, please take them home.  We are having a hard time maneuvering in some of the back areas of the store due to vendor’s items.  We really do not have the room for you to store your items.  Thank you for your consideration.
Please do not leave the newspaper wrappings from your boxes, we have an OVERABUNDANCE!!!!
It has been suggested that we hold a “Dicker with the Dealer” night.  Several of you think it sounds like a fun thing to do!! AND, it’s a great way to boost sales in the slow time of the year. It is not a required sale event!  Only those interested need attend and participate, BUT, the more participation we have, the more effective and better for the customers.  We will begin about 4 PM and go until 6 or 7 PM.  You will be the one that sets the lowest price you will accept.  Vendors will be in or around their ooths, and we will supply a form for you to fill out for the sales counter. We will probably have some snacks and of course the hot drinks.

Scott found a source online for heavy duty shelf brackets. They are available for $1 each

for the 12” and $2 each for the 16”.

Scott’s Thoughts: Check out the new “Ramp” booth and “Ramp” wall at the bottom of the ramp

going upstairs.  Also, if you haven’t noticed we have two new signs.  One is on the front

and sides of the store and the other sign is above the entrance of the area going upstairs

(good job Bonnie).  Keeper’s Corner continues to strive to be the best, thanks to a lot of

work from all of us.

Scott’s Thoughts: If you haven’t checked out the area upstairs at Keeper’s corner, now is the time for you to do it. It has grown a lot and has been well organized.  The customers are up there and they are buying every day. In the 11 days that Bonnie was in Portland there was over $4,000.00 worth of items sold from up there. There are two “Free Vendor Use Areas” upstairs for the vendor use.  Each vendor is limited to 3 total items in the free areas.  That is NOT 3 in each one.  See Scott or Bonnie for more information on the areas upstairs.

If you’ve thought about going fishing and need a way to get there just let me know.  As the weather gets better, and I stop subbing at the schools, the trips will become more frequent. PS… be sure to ask Linda how many and how big.  As a “true fisherman”, the numbers get bigger all the time. She says her arm is really sore from reeling them in.

Scott’s Thoughts: ?Fish, fish, fish! It is that time of the year.  It’s time to get the poles, tackle boxes and boats out.  Steve Herbold (Cathy’s husband) and I spent 5 days at Brookings fishing. Although the ocean was rough and the fishing was mostly poor we still had a great time.  Still looking for fishing partners to go in my boat so let me know if you’re interested. 

Thanks for making Keeper’s Corner (your store) such a great one. Be sure to get ready for SALE DAY in May.

We are still having great sales in the store.  I appreciate what all of you are doing to keep the store well stocked and looking and feeling good for our customers.  It is showing in the sales for the store.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE!!! DO NOT put broken glass directly into the garbage cans!! Put it in a paper bag and seal it up before putting into the trash. Scott got cut very badly last week working with a trash bag.
During hard economic times there are two givens: Violence and theft will rise!!  PLEASE keep your eyes and ears open when you are in the store for the latter.  And also, please refrain from working on your booth when you are doing your store hours.  Also, if you haven’t noticed we now have some “eyes in the sky” to help.
Store Display: The next store front display will be changed toward the middle of April.  More than likely to a gardening/yard type display.  If you have something special let us know so we can direct the display builders your direction!
Please remember that the “Man Cave” and the “Christmas Room” are here for your convenience, PLEASE do not take advantage of the available space. Remember that there are others who may also want to display something.
March’s calendar is still showing a lot of empty slots. Please get signed up as soon as you can.
OH, those darn name tags!!! Please check your purses, jackets, sweaters and car for any strays and bring them home!

Keep up the great work and get ready for the better weather so we can all start hitting the yard sales; and I am sure there will be plenty of them this year.  As always, I want to thank you for all you do.

Christmas Sale Night!!! It’s getting that time of year again.  Holiday Season!!!  Keepers Corner is hosting our annual Christmas Sale, December 10, 2008.   We will close the store at 5:00PM and re-open at 6:00 PM for a “20% off everything in the store” sale.  The sale will run until 9:00 PM (or until all the customers leave!!!)  You will not be charged an additional 12% commission that night.  More details are attached to this Newsletter.  If any of you could volunteer some extra time, it would be appreciated.  Last year our sales for the night sale were tremendous!!  Well worth the effort!  We will be having cookies and other snacks. Several vendors have asked if they can bring something for the snack table, and the answer is “yes”!  And Thank you!!!

We are still experiencing some vandalism here in the store.  When you are in the store, please keep your eyes open for anything that is happening that shouldn’t be!! (And let us know immediately)

Keeper’s Corner Expanded Upstairs!!! We opened the building’s second floor!!! Spaces are available for those bigger pieces you don’t want taking up space in your booths.  See Bonnie, Scott or any of the staff for information!!! (Oh, by the way, we are giving you a bonus, if you rent upstairs for three months, we will give you the fourth month FREE!!) Check with us and see if we can make you a “deal” on upstairs space.

At this time of year, Scott and I want to take the time to tell you all “Thank you”.  Thank you for your continued support. Thank you for your great attitude toward the success of the store.  And Thank you for making Keeper’s Corner the kind of place our customers love to visit!!!  We hear so many comments about the nice looking booths, the atmosphere, the great products and the reasonable prices.  All of us working together is keeping Keeper’s Corner doing so well in this time of economic stress.   We are grateful to each and every one of you!

Christmas Sale Night!!! Now on to a sad note: We are experiencing some vandalism here in the store.  A few vendors have had salt dumped on their shelves, and one has had some spice cans emptied out in the aisle.  We have also had some other serious vandalism done to beautiful furniture items.  It is a deliberate act.  There have been scratches, pen gouges, and scribbles.  I would hope that it isn’t coming from within our ranks.  I do want you to know that we are taking steps to find out who it is, and when they are caught, we will call the police and do all we can do to see that they are prosecuted.

Scott’s Thoughts: Having too much fun!!!! The trip to Hawaii was great getting to see my oldest son but they can keep Hawaii.  A great place visit but…  The trip back on the aircraft Abraham Lincoln was great.  Where else could I cruise for 6 days on a ship 1,092 feet long, 5,900 people on board, sleep 102 people in an area 20 feet x 80 feet, lots of tours of the ship and shooting off and landing aircraft at 170 MPH.  Oh well what more can I say…  If you would like to see some of the 447 pictures, let me know. Bonnie and I had a great visit in Utah seeing my mom and we are glad to be back.  Again, thanks to all for the support of the store.
